Vascular Laser Therapy.
What is vascular laser therapy?
Vascular laser therapy was designed to rid patients of benign vascular lesions such as facial veins, rosacea, angiomas, red birth marks, hemangiomas and other red-colored lesions by use of an intense beam of light. This beam brings energy to a specific site where it is absorbed by oxyhemoglobin (bright red blood cells carrying oxygen) and then coagulated and reabsorbed by the body during the natural healing process.
What type of results will I see?
Final treatment results should be evident within 10-14 days after treatment for vascular lesions and within 2-3 weeks after treatment for pigmented lesions.
Can anyone have Restylane therapy?
Treatment may vary depending upon patient characteristics and the area being treated. You will asked to wear special goggles to protect your eyes from the beam of laser light. The doctor will use a hand-piece to direct the laser light to the lesion. In most cases, anesthesia is not required.
Some patients report feeling a slight stinging sensation during treatment followed by some redness, which usually dissipates in 2-4 hours. Some swelling may also be experienced for 1-2 days.
