Born and raised in Philadelphia, she attended Yale University for her undergraduate studies and the University of Pennsylvania for medical school. Upon completion of an internal medicine residency at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, she trained as a dermatology resident at Cook County Hospital.
In 1995, she joined her husband in his dermatology practice. Her special interests are medical dermatology, pediatric dermatology, infectious diseases of the skin and allergic contact dermatitis.

Born and raised in Downers Grove, she graduated from the University of Illinois and then received a second degree from Midwestern University as a physician assistant. For the last several years, Midwestern University has invited her to be a guest lecturer in Dermatology to physician assistants and medical students.
She joined the Bakal Dermatology practice in the year 2000 and has extensive experience in general dermatology including the management of acne, warts, mole evaluation and removal.

Leigh grew up in the metro Detroit area and received her undergraduate degree in Biology from Albion College. Before entering graduate school she spent two years as a research assistant at the University of Michigan. She then proceeded to the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine where she received her master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies and was awarded the Sara Somers Rupert Scholarship.
Leigh joined Bakal Dermatology in 2006 and sees patients for the treatment and management of general medical dermatologic conditions including acne, warts, psoriasis, and skin cancer evaluations.
